I am planning to take the First Aid At Work certificate but did some preliminary stuff last night.
Now, the protocol for CPR has changed; you are not meant to check the mouth for obstructions; what is that all about?
It also transpired that I know more than some practising St Johns Ambulance people, which I found disturbing. |

with st. j's that in no way surprises me.
im a first aid instructor - my opinon is the new protocols have been dumbed down too far. basically there is a poor standard or training endemic in the first aid industry, and instread of bringing people up to standard, they just reduce the requirements and maintain the low standard.
st.j basically get by on their big name, they are an interesting organisation - one of the most expensive in the land to get trained by yet the one who is the self professed best and supposedly doing the best for advancing first aid.
my hairy arse. |

Thats strange we still check the mouth for obstructions in SJA also the UKRC decide to change the resus guidlines nobody else. The recent thing that changed was the 30 to 2 instead of the 15 to 2
also there is no pulse check if you want any more info on first aid please post
Or could we start a first Aid section? |
