Hi has anyone yet got a copy of the students notes for the CP side of regulation, ie like the Manned guarding student book. Since the majority of the learning should be same for most Companies working in line with the SIA/SITO, I thought that there would be a student book for CP.

Anyone ???

Dave..

It's like spooky says......depends on the training company and which awarding body they use. BCUC, EDEXCEL or City & Guilds. All slightly different but they all adhere to the SIA core competencies.
Knowledge and practical skills training (minimum 150 hours)

* Introduction to the roles and responsibilities of the close protection operative
* Threat and risk assessment
* Surveillance awareness
* Operational planning
* Law and legislation
* Interpersonal skills
* Close protection team work
* Reconnaissance
* Close protection foot techniques
* Route selection
* Use of close protection vehicle techniques
* Search awareness
* Incidents and dilemmas
* Venue based security
* Communication and conflict management skills

Oh, and you must have a current Full First Aid Certificate.

Thinking of doing the course Dave?

Regards to all, (Hiya spooks......where ya bin?)

Mike.

Hi CorSec,

Was thinking of doing the course in the near future when I have saved up and can afford to take the time out of my current Job!!
With Regards to the Student Notes, Like I said in my other post all the other courses run inline with the SIA Licensing have a student book, which covers all the text learning given on the course, I know this does not cover all things, during courses I/we pass on other bits of info that will be of benefit to the students in the real world. I teach Manned Guarding Sector, so pass on info that will help them in their workplace.

Me and another work mate were thinking of doing the CP course, my mate did a course when he came out of the forces over five years ago over in the states. We were just looking for a heads up on the course content other than the main headings.

Another chap I know of as just completed a course with Ronin and he was not given any course hand-outs for after hours reading!! Is there a Book? Are do these Company just not bother to print/photo copy all those pages!!! As this process takes up a bit of my time while getting material ready for course I run.

Harry.
we are running a Level 3 Close protection course as we speak.
the thing with deligate handbooks is weather or not the training provider wants to provide them for you to keep or has to keep them back for verification reasons.

In any event you should speak to the training provider and see what they say.

Stay Safe.
