I manage security at a castle which is open daily to the public. I need suggestions from people who have prior knowledge of protection systems to signal if anything on display it tampered with or removed. The type of items I am trying to protect range widely from small vases and other trinkets right up to large paintings and statues.

Anyone out there got any advice to give?

Protection from tampering and removal are quite different issues, so some thought would have to be given about the most suitable technological rememdy for different scenarios.

Small items for example would look rather silly with huge great tags on them, so maybe RFID would be more suitable - these can be so small os to be near invisible to the naked eye but then, they need close scanning to be detected.
I'll have a route around to see what I can dig up (no pun intended).
