As you have not worked for the company for the required time, you would not really have any recourse as far as wrongful dismissal was concerned.
However, one would expect any company that had to take disciplinary action against an employee to do so swiflty - not five days later!
One would normally expect an employee to be suspended immediately pending a proper investigation and disciplinary hearing (as per ACAS Guidelines) but sadly there are still a few disreputable companies that rely on the loss of earnings to suspended employees to force them to look for alternative work to save them the trouble of the disciplinary process.

They are only a few quite specific scenarios that I am aware of, where an employee would be suspended with full pay in this industry - it would be worth checking your contract of employment.

Hi guys
yesterday I was asked by my Site Manager to request an immediate transfer, this was due to the fact I asked one of the directors who did not have his building access pass to please report to reception and sign out a temp access pass for the day, the director tailgated someone through the doors I followed him through the doors and asked him politely to come back to reception to sign out a temp access pass as per the security instructions
I was told to fuck off by this director, I did not press the issue and referred this matter to the security manager and also the banks security director, my manager called me a lier to my face
and told me I was causing trouble this director knew the security rules and would have signed in
the director made a compaint about the way I handled this I followed the security rules as laid down by the banks security director, the upshot of this I have been ripped apart by the security manager and told to apply for an immediate transfer becuse I did my job, the manager informed me to contact the control room for work over the weekend when I did contact the security company control room I was informed by the controller that as far as he was concerned I was still rostered at that site until he was informed by my contracts manager I called the site manager and informed him of this was told the contracts manager would be in touch result no work over this weekend and until informed by contracts manager
the security company control room wont help me
do i have any recourse.
Regards

What you are saying then is that you followed the banks security protocols but the Director was a spinless muppet who knew he'd done wrong so to cover his ass, he put in a complaint about your 'attitude' to justify his non-compliance of company procedure.
As a result of this complaint (the customer is always right) the security manager got his ass bitten and is now taking it out on you by not giving you any work.

It seems to me that if the Control room says you are rostered for those shifts but you have been told not to go then they owe your for those shifts - after all, you would have gone and they were rostered to but you were told not to go. If they had given you a different site to go to, you would have gone to that one too.

So, technically, you were carrying out an instruction from the company and should be paid for those shifts but as usual, by Monday morning, you'll probably find you were not rostered for those shifts (after they have amended the roster "after the fact") so getting that momeny from them might be problematical.

John
that is correct the site security manager informed me at 11.15 when I was beginning the changeover his exact words were- we are parting company now
you have 2 options you write out a letter for an immiediate transfer from site and your record stays clean or the other option you do not want to take I asked what option 2 was he just smiled and said you dont want to take this option I then asked could I finish my shift out he said no you will be paid for this shift come back on saturday and clear your locker out, when you get home contact the company control room and they will roster you over the weekend the contracts manager has already sorted this out for you, so you will have work over the weekend but when I called control they said I was rostered on that site till monday I asked had the contracts manager spoken to them the aswer was no i asked had the site manager spoken to them the answer was no called them 5 times today phone just ringing out can I use this as constructive dissmissal

Was the TUPE recent? Sounds like they could just be making excuses to get rid of you because you are too good at your job bud.

His words "we are parting company" and "clear out your locker" could certainly be interpretted as "you are sacked" but I would not consider (from what you have said) that your actions warrant instant dismissal so yes, you could well claim constructive dismissal.

Tuped to this company in 2002 the security manager said this director was untouchable even he could not approach him it was the security director that spoke to the director but he made a complaint I harrassed him, the security director actually told this director I was in the right that I followed security procedure, which this director has broken other staff seen this and they all agreed I did nothing wrong but I was still asked to leave site
it just beggars belief that you do your job in a professional manner and you get canned for it this wil not stop me doing my job in the future
I finally got through to security control I have to call them back at 21.00 tonight even they are angry at the way I was treated.
Regards
Alex

Well I wish you good luck Smile
I did my bit for my fellow officers and I'm well out of it now having retired at the ripe old age of 45.
It has been a long time since I was here on this site and have to admit, I'm a little disappointed that it has gone so quiet but that obviously means all is well with the private security industry LMAO Wink
