Hello prodark and welcome to our site.
I did get your email but I simply do not have the time to answer an extensive list of questions, especially when anyone going into business should have already got answers to most of them as part of their business plan.

I mean you no disrespect but, if you have no idea where you are going to get customers from - why start a business?

You asked about licensing - have you actually bothered to visit the SIA website?

Hi Prodark,

First things first:

Get clients lined up. It doesn't matter if you have staff or not yet, the things you need is to set up you selling pitch and organise meetings, lots of them!

Get your company exposed in local press normally under the business pages section. Many local papers will write a short narrative on new businesses coming into the local area which will create employment.

Internet is another good advertising medium, get a website (simple) and submit to search engines and internet directories, business dorectories etc. I can help with this, PM me for further info if you want it.

DON'T spam email companies or send unsolicted mail, faxes, etc. A lot of companies are now registering with the TPS and FPS which is a database of businesses who do not wish to receive this information etc (you can be fined for doing this to registered companies).

If you need training for your staff, again PM me, I can help with this, but it is advisable to source some clients first and then recruit to your needs.

As John said above, you really need to visit the SIA website, it holds most of the information you need. But research and preparation is a must to set up in this industry. You can't just get a handful of guys and get a contract; it's very hard work and very stressful.

All the same, good luck in your venture.
