I am student about to start my final year at university - meaning that I have to soon think about getting a real job... eep.
Anyway, the idea of security installation really appeals to me, its practical, you get to travel about a bit and work for many different clients and the long term commitment to the job seems beneficial in terms of pay etc.
However I've been looking around this site (and others) for information about how to actually go about getting a job in this field... theres so much information about different courses, licences etc, so I thought I would ask for a little bit of information from the guys in the know...
Any information about how I can get a foot on the ladder would be great,
-also any information from any installers about what the actual job is like day to day would also be very helpful! (Job descriptions being quite vauge!)
Nice.
Thanks in advance
Infidel

Hi Infidel (!)
You could try the SSAIB, they are an Inspection body but I believe they also run or have information on various courses. Tavcom is a training company who might give you information as well.
Good luck with whatever you decide to become, ps remember me when you make your first million, my consult rates are very reasonable.
