Welcome to the SIPS UK support forum.
SIPS is currently being used by a number of leading security companies and is one of the market leaders in New Zealand for incident reporting/ client database/ keholding database and patrol scheduling software.
SIPS was written by James Price of Application Engineering New Zealand Ltd - a former security officer himself, so he knows how to fulfill the needs of this type of application.
SIPS UK was written specifically for the UK market so you will not see 'Zip Code' or any other annoying field names that do not pertain to the UK.
SIPS UK will be available FREE, exclusively from the Guild with no time lmitation or restricted functionality with the exception that the free version is restricted to 250 clients.
Why the restriction - well, after much discussion with the software author James, it was decided that this was a 'reasonable' limit to enable the smaller companies who do not have huge software purchasing budgets to acquire and use some really good software whilst still keeping it outside of the needs of the larger companies who do have the funds to purchase it. |

Where can I get hold of some more information on this m8?
If it is as good as it sounds, maybe if I get my hands on a copy, show it to some of my high and mighty lords of all they behold managers they might "eventually" after claiming all credit for the find, consider implementing it. |

The two J’s
James, John might have said already that you can’t control the sizing of the page this happened on the earlier version as well.
On a plus note its better having the two sections combined into one rather than having Patrol and Incident.
Keep up the good work!! |

The form is set at 1024x768 and can't be changed as when I had it variable there were differing issues. This is really a legacy thing from very early versions so I will look at this issue again. Can you send me a private message outlining exactly what, where, when, how etc... so I know I am looking and talking about the same things.
Thanks for the positive feedback on putting SIPS Patrol and SIPS Incident together this time. I am very proud of SIPS 1.4 so look forward to having it out there being used.
Thanks again mate. |

Hi Dave
Thanks for that. Basically SIPS Version 1.4 requires minimum system specifications which are set by the development tools I use, and their runtime requirements.
These minimum requirements are:
Minimum 1 Ghz Pentium™ III or Greater Compatible PC Computer Systems
Microsoft™ Windows 98SE / ME / 2000 / XP Home or Professional
Minimum of 256 Megabyte of RAM – 40 Gigabyte HD – CD Rom
** 1028 x 768 16Bit Colour Display **
Microsoft™ compatible pointing device
--
I recommend Windows™ 2000 or XP Professional (SP2) as the security features of these operating systems are needed to really protect your data, and in saying that, your clients information. Also, when using Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional (SP2) I recommend using at least 512Mb of RAM.
If anyone has any questions or wants to provide feedback I am also keen to try and help, and hear what feedback there is.
James

There have been quite a lot of downloads for this software, yet very limited feedback!
Can I ask those that have downloaded and used the software to provide feebcak please - wether positive or negative.
Personally I think it is an indespensible bit of kit and I'm actually considering installing it on our network where I am currently consulting for a large distribution warehouse for tracking static patrols and recording incidents on site.
I know this is a bit of a waste of the vast potential that SIPS has to offer but, it is free and it is excellent! |

I’ll echo Johns comments, but I have no say in the use of programs. |
