taking previous qualifications into account:
the problem with taking other "qualifications" into account is what "qualifications" (deliberate use of quotes) we are talking about.
company certificates?
actual accredited qualifications?
if the former, then very little will be taken into account as far as i can see because there is no standard to measure this by - since across the CP training industry the training courses vary from 3 or 4 days or a month. of the month courses the companies (that i know of) carry their own certification that is accreditied (such as by edexcel or other - but thats the next subject).
With the shorter courses of seven day duration and soforth the contect varies from basic CP stuff, to rather frighteningly ADVANCED CQB or combat medical skills. now, each of those skills in themselves are months of training themselves, never mind incorporated into a 7 day courses.
In any respect the only people I know of who do advanced CQB live in hereford or poole.
that latter - four week courses accredited courses will (hopefully) carry the weight. thats kind of it in a nutshell.
so - to summarise - if you done what is a decent structured course of decent duration that does not include unrealistic rambo-esqe elements chances are that your qualification will help out. if not, chances are it wont.
in my opinion thats a good thing.
interesting thing is even now the CP specs on the SIA website, companies are still taking bookings for courses that right now wont mean a damned thing come next year...

i wholly expected it.
most cp training companies out there are commercial ventures cashing in on people ingnorance of the industry and kevin costner steriotype of BG's.
they will string people along as long as they possibly can and maybe bring their courses up to date, but im sure some will relabel them to fit other niches...
what can people do?
most probably nothing...

Hi everyone,
This is just a short message to advise you all that there is now available on www.shadowassociatesuk.co.uk a New information pack for close protection training, this includes details of a "Brand New" course designed around the S.I.A's Core skills criteria, as yet there is still no formal award available for this new licence, however we are in consultation with one of the prospective awarding bodies with regards to the development of this qualification at this moment in time.
I will of course keep you all up to speed with any developments as soon as they happen.
How to find the information pack.
Simply click the Blue "HERE" within the "About Us" page or either of the Close Protection Training pages to download the pack in PDF format.
