I have one member of my team who is dutch, and rang the SIA to see where he stands reference to the police check, and he was told that he would require a police check from his parent country when he applies for his licence, his only applies to foreign worker who has been working in this country for less than ten years. We rang the department in his country that carry out the checks and he would be charged 11 euro's (£7.50p).

Also he was told by the person from the SIA that licencing for manned security would be delayed until January 2006, due the problems found with licencing door security.

I have had the same issue initially with a SA member of staff but I was under the impression that had all changed? The "Police check" will be carried out by Disclosure who currently do foriegn national checks so I wonder what the change is for.

More interesting is the apparent confirmation of the delay. I had heard rumours but never better than getting it form the horses mouth.
