Have any of you good people come across this one: Embarassed
I arrived at my current employer (PM to know company) fully trained with approx ten years experience, I’m awaiting conformation of a new position (as previously disclosed on Community Wardens section) decided to take a closer look at the contract that I have signed.

I’ve found these $h!t points: -
· I’m to be charged £100 for screening - here is a statement from the website
“Vetting - ISI (BS7858), Past ten years work history, Police clearance.”
· I’m to be charged £100 for training - here is a statement from the website
“Two days induction, site instruction”
· I’m to be charged £100 for my uniform.

And my responses to the above (all be it too late)

· Why should I be charged for you to carry out one of your company’s obligations, it was you who wanted a BS accreditation not me!
· I have arrived with over and above the entry qualifications why charge me for it? Why not send me on the BJT, Site instruction – if you do not indicate how you require the site to be run by means of specific site training then how are the officers to know what duties are to be carried out?
· Why charge for advertising your company, its your company “Profile” that you want to be portrayed.

So when I leave I’ll be minus £300. Crying or Very sad Not a bad moneymaker, for doing sod all, is it!!

Please look in more detail at your contract before signing!!!

pm me the company name please?

ive heard of this before - stinks.

check further - do they want the uniform back when you leave? if so find out why when your purchasing it from them.

if you really want to throw a spanner into the works, remove all of their logos from YOUR newly aquired clothes. modify and make them all loud and fashionable with some nice red go faster stripes. in theory theres not a damned thing they can do about it if you are the legal owner.
if they then decide that they want their logo/titles and soforth on YOUR clothes insist the money not be charged and get this in writing.

as for the other points maybe make an enqirey or two toward the BS with regard the charging for a critical part of their requirements.

with regard for charging for the BJT, if they charge you insist on an accreditied certificate and not just some crappy company one. seeing as your financing your own training. other than that insist you will do it elsewhere and supply them a copy of your shiny new qualification on completeion and stuff their 100 charge.

Yes matey
I have heard about this as well some companies in london are doing the same I had an interview today and they actually said to me that i would have to do all of this

MY ANSWER
I politely told them to go forth and multiply and thanked them for the interview and left

and I have all of the qualifications needed and also above the requirement that they were looking for

it should be against the law for companies to do this as a pnc check costs £10.00 and they want a £100.00 tell them to go and take a run at arolling donut

any comments
