Murder Suspect - Incarcerated for life

WANTED

Security Officer Sean Edwards, aged 21, was stabbed to death during a row with a man in Gorton, Manchester, in August 2003.
Greater Manchester Police have said they wanted to speak to 41-year-old Alfie Blacker (picture above) in connection with this incident.
Police believe he may have fled to his native Scotland, where it is believed he still has family and friends.

Detective Superintendent Vincent Petrykowski said:

We know Blacker was born in Glasgow and lived there until 1994 when he moved to Greater Manchester, he has lived at addresses in the Bury, Gorton and other surrounding areas.
We are aware that Blacker still has family and friends in Scotland but his exact whereabouts are currently not known.

Security Officer Sean Edwards, who lived on Glenside Avenue, Gorton, left behind his girlfriend and her four children, when he was murdered murdered on 6 August after he intervened in a street fight. He was attacked at about 1945 BST and died from his injuries at Manchester Royal Infirmary 45 minutes later.
His attacker fled the scene in a white Vauxhall car, which was found in the early hours of the following morning in Bury.

Mr Petrykowski said anyone who knows where Mr Blacker is, should contact the incident room in Longsight, or ring Crimestoppers.

John Haywood, Director of the Guild of British Security Officers said:

Does anyone know if Mr. Blacker has been apprehended yet? Or any other news on the investigation?

Mr Blacker is still being sought and the investigating team have promised to let us know of any up dates as soon as they have one.

This is the reply that the officer in charge of the investigation sent today

continue to establish his whereabouts.

I am grateful for the previous assistance of the Guild of Security (UK) Ltd
but at this stage of the enquiry further publicity is not required.

I would have thought that in a case as disturbing as this one the police would consider any free publicity a godsend.

The fact that Alfies face is now publicised throughout the security environment is an excellent thing that shall hopefully aid in the eventual detention of the suspect.

On a different note, is anyone aware which company mr Edwards worked for, I would hate to find out it was a colleague from the firm that employes me and that I had not been informed.

I did ask that question when I first contacted GMP regarding this matter but they refused to enlighten me.
The search contniues until we are informed of his arrest.

If anyone knows of any other incidents, please be sure to let us know.
Whilst we hope we do not have to add any more to this thread, if it helps in some small way, it has to be benficial to any enquiries being made.
If nothing else, his life must be quite miserable not being able to go out in public.

I think I might even add this to our newsletter when the next one goes out.

It gives me the greatest of pleasures to let you all know that Alfie Blacker was recently sentenced to life imprisonment for mudering security officer Sean Edwards.
