Who is eligible?
Committee Members applications will ONLY be considered for fully Subscribed (fee paying) Members and those who have been given an 'Honourary Member' status.

Committee Members would ideally have at least 5 years experience in the British security or a related industry.
Applicants who have a specialist knowledge in a particular area will be given a priority as will those that have contributed significantly to our discussion forums.

What does being a Committee Member entail?
Being a Committee Member is one of our most prestigious appointments. As a non-profit voluntary organisation, we do not pay wages or other renumeration so being a Committee Member is proof of your dedication not only to the security industry in general but also to furthering the aims and ideals of the Guild.
Committee Members have the same powers as forum Moderators and in addition, they may form their own working groups to discuss and analyse various sectors of the industry, including their own research.
Committee Members may use 'Guild of Security UK Ltd Committee Member' in their forum signature (this is normally done automatically by the site Admins) and they may also us it in their other private and business correspondence.

Committee Members have regular, direct contact with the Directors and as such may be priveliged to information which is not normally made available to the general public.
Committee Members are also allocated a Guild email address for their personal and Guild related use (conditions apply).
Committee Members are required to attend at least one Directors Meeting per year This will usually be the AGM (annual general meeting) or GM (general meeting) - whenever possible, we hold these 'online' via our Guild Chat room to alleviate the logistical problem of members travelling from all over the country.

Committee Members are appointed by a show of votes from existing Committee Members and the Directors during an AGM GM or other scheduled meeting.
Committee Members are entitled to free Premium Membership should they be re-appointed for a subsequent 12 months.
Re-appointments are are carried out annually by a show of votes at the AGM.
