To ensure your advertising campaign is cost effective, unlike some (most) other websites, we do not charge you by the week or month (exception: fixed text adverts, see below) we only charge you for the times your advert is seen by a visitor.

Most websites, including ours, rotate a number of banner adverts within the same advertising space so for example, a site that has 100 banners and gets 10 visitors an hour means your own banner advert will only be displayed on average, once every 10 hours. If you purchase a three month period of advertising from this hyperthetical site, it means your advert is only seen by 1008 visitors in three months (based on a 12 hour usable day and a 4 week month).
Here at the Guild we take a completely different approach - you only pay for the times your banner is seen by a visitor! We acheive this by allowing you to purchase 'banner views' (in blocks of 10,000) so regardless of how long it might take to use up your 'views' you can be assured that you are effectively only paying for the times your banner is at it's most useful - when it is being shown to someone!!

Advertising Account
Each client gets a specially configured Advertising Account which we set up for you to suit your needs.
Your account statistics can be emailed to you at any interval (in days) and include such statisitcs as how many times your banner has been shown, how many views are left, how many visitors clicked on your banner etc.
We can configure your ad not to be shown to the same person more than once or limit it displaying to the same visitor within a specified time period or, if you wish, you can restrict your advert from being displayed to visitors originating from outside of the UK if you are providing a product or service limited to the UK, which most of our clients would be.
Our advertising software is so powerful and comprehensive, you can even stop it displaying your advert to your own PC* and thus avoiding wasting 'views' to yourself! Using this facility, it is even possible to stop an advert being displayed to a competitor*
* - Facility is based on preventing the ad being displayed to a known IPaddress.

Banner Advertising Types
We offer two types of banner adverts, the maximum size of our advertising space is 468x80 pixels;

Home Page Advert - Your banner will appear in rotation with others on the main (home) page of our site only.

Site Header Advert - Your banner will appear in rotation at the top of every internal page of our website.

Text Advertising Types
Rotating Footer - your text, up to 10 words will be rotated with others at the
bottom of the site on every internal page.

Fixed Text - your text up to 10 words will appear permanently at the bottom of our site on every internal page. This is the only advertising option with which it is beneficial to purchase for a given time period and is the only purchasing option available.

Fixed Text advertising can be beneficial to young sites or sites that require more traffic as it can help search engine optimisation techniques through page ranking and reciprocal linking - for this reason, it is the only option which is available to be purchased for a specified time period. Our own research and experimentation over a number of websites into search engine optimisation has determined the minimum time period through which a significant change in rankings may occur is 3 months, so fixed text advertising in therefore only sold in blocks of three months to help ensure your maximise potential for search engine exposure.
