A man has been charged with attempting to murder a security guard who was shot outside an Essex nightclub.

The 21-year-old, from Stratford in East London, was arrested following an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme.
The man, who has not been named, has also been charged with possession of a firearm and possession of illegal ammunition.
The charges relate to an incident outside the Ikon nightclub at Basildon's Festival Leisure Park in the early hours of 30 October.
A 23-year-old security guard from Laindon was shot in the upper leg.
An Essex Police spokesman said the man was being held in custody.
He is due to appear before Basildon magistrates on Monday 22nd December 2003.
