Staines based law-enforcement trainers, Trained Eye Ltd, are offering evening classes in basic bodyguarding.



Students can earn a certificate in ‘close protection’ over 10 weeks. The subjects to be covered will include dealing with threats, conflict resolution, unarmed combat and non-vocal communication. Real-life missions will also be included from the outset.

The emphasis is on team-working and the course is expected to be fun and motivational. However, there is also a serious side to the training as Ian Henderson, the Director of Studies explained, "These days everyone has a responsibility to take care of themselves, their families and their friends. It makes a lot of sense to pick up some assertion skills and practice risk assessment in a safe learning environment".

All the lecturers are retired police-officers with previous experience in royalty protection.
