Police are hunting three men who attacked several security officers and their vehicles during a raid on a Derby security company.

The raid happened at around 1900 GMT on Friday at the Security Plus premises on Abbey Street, Derby.

Police say three men wearing balaclavas walked into the yard and began attacking several vans and their drivers in an attempt to steal cash.

After an alarm was triggered, the miscreants ran off empty-handed.

The robbers had a car and driver waiting in nearby Woods Lane.

The security officers were left shocked but were not injured.

Two of the attackers are described as about 5 ft 10ins and were wearing dark clothing.
The third was around 6 feet tall and wore green camouflage type clothes.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are now studying CCTV footage of the incident.
