Robbers armed with a knife stole a cash box containing £3,000 from a security guard as he delivered to a Barnes coffee shop on Monday.

The cash van stopped in Castlenau between Ferry Road and Church Road to make a delivery to Starbucks coffee shop on October 23 at 11am.

When the security guard came out carrying the cash box a man ran towards him carrying a knife saying "drop the box" which he did.

The robber and an accomplice escaped in a car down Ferry Road. Police believe they broke into the box with a sledgehammer.

They are also thought to have changed into a grey Toyota Previa which drove off and turned into Verdun Road.

The first suspect is described as a 35 white male, 5ft 6ins, of heavy build with short brown hair and wearing a green bomber jacket and blue jeans.

The second was a black male, 19, 5ft 10ins tall, wearing dark clothing with a black scarf wrapped around his face.
