Security Officer Robbed outside Bank

Detectives in Newtownabbey have appealed for information after a security officer was robbed outside a bank at Abbots Cross in Whiteabbey on Thursday.
At around 9.30am the member of staff was making a delivery to a bank when he was approached by a man armed with a knife.
The robber threatened him before grabbing a cash box and making off in a waiting Vauxhall Astra van. The van was seen driving off at speed down the Doagh Road in the direction of the Shore Road.
The robber is described as being between 35 and 42-years-old, 5’6” to 5’9” in height with grey shaven hair. He wore a green checked lumberjack shirt.
Anyone who either witnessed the robbery or who saw a white Vauxhall Astra in the Abbots Cross area at around 9.30am is asked to contact detectives at Newtownabbey on 028 90650222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
