A gang of eight youths is being hunted after a security guard was assaulted in the grounds of a Kent hospital on 2nd November.

The 59-year-old victim suffered an injury to his eye during the incident in the car park of the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

Police said the man had been called to deal with youths on skateboards causing a nuisance on Saturday afternoon.

He was verbally abused by one boy, and hit from behind by another before being either kicked or hit with a skateboard.

Dreadlocked hair

Officers said the main offender was aged in his mid to late teens, 5ft 8in tall, and of medium build.

The victim described him as being of mixed race with dark brown hair in dreadlocks. He was wearing dark clothing.

Another of the youths in the group may have been using crutches, police said.

Any witnesses to the incident, in particular some women waiting at a nearby bus stop, are being urged to contact Kent Police.
