Owing to what we see as unfair changes to they the Security Installer Topsite list requirements in order to particiapte, we have decided to withdraw from the topsite list, with immediate effect.

Security Installer now require the inclusion of a webring code for continued participation.

The webring code is basically a link which takes you to other Topsite participating websites.

We were quite happy to include that code and in fact added it to the main site footer - so we went one better than anyone else and made the webring links visible on every single page of the site.

However, after investigating some complaints we had recieved, it became apparent that when the webring link was 'clicked', our own site disappeared and was replaced by the site in the webring.
In order to not spoil your enjoyment of our site, we modified the code to load any webring sites in a new browser window which meant you could still navigate that site but, when you closed the browser window, you were back here, on our site.
We informed Security Installer of the changes we had made and why we had made them but we were told that this was not permitted.

We were also in the process of adding the Webring sites to our custon toolbar but have now taken the decision to withdraw from the topsite listing completely. As a result, we have removed all the voting links and webring links from the site.

On the plus side, we did manage to get to the number 1 spot more often than not, so perhaps this will give the other sites that are continuing to participate a fighting chance.

We will be starting our own Topsite list shortly but in order to be fair to everyone that participates, we will not actually be participating in it ourselves.
