Following enquiries from our membership, the Guild contacted the Security Industry Authority and requested specific information under the Freedom of Information Act - namely, how many individuals working within the manned guarding sector of the British private security industry were contacted with a view to getting thier feedback on licencing issues.
The SIA has declined to respond to our request so we are now preparing our case, on behalf of our members, which will be sent to the Information Commissioner for investigation and possible prosecution of the SIA for failing to comply with the Freedom of Information Act.
