Officers from West Mercia police will use both marked and unmarked cars to support security staff as they carry out their day to day business.

The move follows the shooting of a security officer during an armed robbery at Old Birmingham Road Post Office in Rednal, Worcestershire, last month.

The victim was shot in the neck and had to have surgery.
